Meet Jenny Walker

Hello, I’m Jenny , and I want to thank you so much for taking the time to read my bio! I cannot wait to meet you in person, but until we do, here is a little introduction to my work as a somatic therapist. I specialise in advanced body work with an emphasis on myo-fascial release, advanced clinical massage techniques and movement.

My aim throughout my career has to help people enjoy their lives more!

It's my joy to apply anatomical knowledge and somatic understanding to the treatment room, helping people out of difficult patches, as well as working with them through pathologies that need rehabilitation and maintenance.  My aim throughout my career has to help people enjoy their lives more.

What I Get Up To.

I have been a therapist since 1999, when I first started to study at my local technology college in Guildford, Surrey. For three years I studied through night school in the subjects of anatomy and physiology, fitness training, sports massage, aromatherapy and nutrition. During the day I would see clients and begin to find out the practicalities of working as a body-therapist. For eight years I continued to work from my home and built up Cornerstone Therapies before moving to my own studio, which became the home for the practice I ran successfully until 2024.

In 2008 I met Rachel Fairweather during a week long massage training course for upper back pain. I admired her deep knowledge of anatomy, and we connected at a time when I was feeling burned out and not sure if I wanted to give up my work; I could not find a way of continuing to studying further in the realm of advanced massage in the UK, and didn’t have the means to study abroad. That week changed my life, as along with her business partner, Rachel had started the Jing Massage School, where I graduated with my level 6 (BSc) in advanced clinical massage and human anatomy in the first cohort within the UK in 2013.

My time in studying in Brighton offered me a springboard to dive into the deeper levels of anatomical research and knowledge mobilisation within the clinic space; offering me a unique chance to develop my own approach to communicating scientific theories to my clients each day in my practice. I spent over 700 hours in the dissection lab with Gil Headley both in St Andrews Scotland, and Newark over in New Jersey. Combining this experience with weekend course time at Imperial College’s human anatomy labs with Prof. Kerry and Julian Baker, I became part of the Institute of Anatomical Sciences here in the UK, The Fascia Research Society in the USA, and am also a member of the international Fascia Hub. In 2015 I gained my Level Three Teacher Training Diploma through Gateway Learning. Then, during 2019 to 2021, I spent 2 years at the University of the West Of England studying physical rehabilitation in the NHS setting.

When I am not in the studio with my clients, I enjoy an eclectic group of interests! From running The Knitted Wardrobe as a content writer for makers, artists and independent businesses,  and where I publish my own knitting patterns, and blogs, my creative cup overflows! I also enjoy sea dipping (I would never confess to being a great swimmer),  walking, rambling and faffing around in a kayak every now and again, which means my life is pretty full! I also enjoy reading a good book,  hot-chocolate, and sewing my own clothes.
