Calming Stress

Long term stress and pain weave a tight web around your body and mind that can feel impossible to break free from. For many people, the higher the external stress levels that are experienced,  the more pain radiates around their body, leaving them feeling depressed,  they may suffer intense headaches, ‘random pain’, and a lack of get-up-and-go.

What we do know is that massage therapy can help stress and pain management  through reducing the cortisol that rages through your body. Through increasing serotonin; your ‘happy hormone’, massage aids your psychological as well as your physical relaxation so you can see improvement in your sleep; a vital part of the healing for any stressful time, allowing the mental burden that stress brings to lift.

Calming Down.

A little bit of stress is a good thing; it gets us out of bed in the morning, and allows us to succeed in life. But when it gets out of control it can start to cause dysregulation in our bodies, producingn an avalanche of concerns including physical pain, lack of sleep, increased blood pressure, low mood or depression, muscular tension, and a whole host of symptoms that can leave you feeling out of control.

Stress causes our bodies to spike in the levels of cortisol, which is a hormone that fires our fight and flight response. This can disrupt our whole body, and leave you with a sense that you are always responding to something and that you can’t calm down.

The outside factors that bring about stressful situations can be problems that crop up with family, friends, work, finances, major life changes, and traumatic events in your past, to name but a few.

It may seem odd to seek help from advanced clinical massage to help with stress, but we know that regular restorative sessions of massage can aid in lowering your cortisol and help to regulate your body and mind so that you get some space to calm down and heal.

Through the use of aromatherapy oils, breathing techniques, and combining long held stretches with slower massage approaches, Jenny helps to bring all the scientifically proven aids into the treatment room to help you get through the tough times in life. When your body and mind start to slow down and experience a sense of peace, you may start to find that the frayed edges start to get better and you can deal with life in a more balanced way.

Quite simply, touch helps to calm your parasympathetic nervous system as the nerves in your skin send signals to your brain, and releases a relaxation response when your Massage Therapist is trained to aid this. Thankfully for you, Jenny has spent over 20 years mastering this in the treatment room for you to experience and benefit from.

On a very basic level, regular massage not only allows you to feel cared for and reduces your pain levels, but it also helps you sleep better, rest easier and breathe deeper, all of which allows you to find ways of coping with your daily life from a strong foundation.

Jenny cannot wait to help you find a deeper sense of peace and relaxation, no matter which storm you are battling through at the moment.
